Memories Again "Good Will Formal"

Years ago after hurricane Lily the entire ministry center at our church was shut down for repairs and renovation. The roof of the building was torn up like a lid on a tin can. The inside of the building had to be gutted and rebuilt. Well since the student and children ministries had to be relocated for a while we decided to find a place off campus to host all of our event and weekly activities. Below are some pics from one of the events we had. Since a lot of the area was effected by the hurricane we figured one of the ways we could help the surrounding area was to donate some of our clothes to the needy. So we turned one of our Wednesday nights into an event we called the "Good Will Formal". The goal was to get everyone to dress up in some tacky formal clothes and bring some of their own clothes to donate. This first picture is of the student praise band at that time. In the picture you will see Alicia Beadle (keys and vocals), Amy Jane Smith (vocals), Loren Carriere (electric guitar and vocals), Phillip Aubin (Acoustic Guitar), Tim Walker (bass guitar), Justin Head (acoustic guitar and vocals) and Matt Williams (drums). We had a lot of fun that night. One of the songs we played was Relint K's song "Sadie Hawkins Dance"

I though in this pic just to let people make fun of me for my long hair...so have at it. Oh yeah and by the way the lipstick on my face was planted their by my sister. She was my date for the night.and here it is the highlighting picture of the nigh...can any one guess who the little boy is with the curly hair
If you guessed Justin Broussard you are right. He must have been in the 6th or 7th grade back them. I guess you can say he has grown up. Quite literally

Freezer Run Over

Well the freezer run is over for now and the grand total is 1 hog, 2 deer and a rabbit...better luck next time. Hopefully I can get a another 2-3 deer before the season is out to last me till next hunting season

another one bits the dust

That's one more deer to add to the freezer run total if you have been keeping track. Still haven't seen a buck big enough to take yet though. Hopefully I will this evening. My time here is almost up. Still have ice chest to be filled...

Hunting

Well it is the first full day of the freezer run this year. I am in Foard county Texas hoping to take the deer of a lifetime. Of course that is not my only objective. I would like to fill my freezer too. With luck or should I say with God's blessings I would like to take home 3 deer (1 buck 2 does) and a hand full of hogs. A dozen or so cotton tails would be nice as well. We got in yesterday after leaving Lafayette at 1:30 AM with enough time to hunt the afternoon. It was hot and unsuccessful for me. Dad and uncle Russell both killed a hog. The weather changed over night it is now a lot colder and the wind is screaming out of the north. Just saw a nice buck this morning while I was typing the first half, but not quite what I am looking for. Maybe this afternoon the wind will die down and I will get to pull the trigger on a big one

Memories Again

If you have followed this blog for some time you might remember a series of post titled "Memories" well this is the continuation of that series. First off lets start with the team. If I thought about it for a while I could possibly remember the year. My first guess of the top of my head is that this was sometime in 2002, but I am not sure. Anyway here is the student ministry team. People referred to us as the J team. It was composed of Jim, Justin, Joe and Jen. Of course you can see the J team had an addition by the time, Andi.

The next few pics are some from volunteer training events we went to. Along with being able to serve with an awsome staff. I was privaledged to serve next to some awesome volunteers.

Those were great times and the fun has never stopped. More pics to follow soon hope you keep checking in to see what is new. I have a picture of a youth that was in the 6th or 7th grade when the picture was taken and he is now a senior in high school. Pretty cool stuff to come stay tuned.

Happy Birthday Angelle

Angelle's said that she didn't want balloons for her birthday. It is all out or nothing at all for her, so we went all out and got her very own hot air balloon. Enjoy and Happy Birthday Angelle!

Thank you Becky and Rachel for thinking about the hot air balloon.
